Love Report: Velveteen Rabid

I was browsing through my usual inspiration destinations and I started feeling velvet - something here, something there - revisiting that image of the blue velvet Louboutins and jeans. I was asking myself if it was some kind of Christmas stocking/Santa's ensemble thing that had set me on the course ... but I had a feeling someone had tipped me off. I eventually remembered it was Amy Creyer, the Chicago street style photographer, who I saw last weekend there. She just said in passing she was in a velvet mood. Zietgeist - but also, those street sleuths have advanced trend skills.
Anyway, velvet can do a lot of wrong - I hate really crushed velvet and p.s. I think velveteen is actually fake velvet - but obviously per above it can do A LOT of right. In high school I owned two fitted velvet blazers, in burgundy and black, and I LITERALLY wore them every day with jeans. Wish I had them now... anyway, some (mostly) sale browsing on the theme:
